Personal & Motivational Insights

How She Started:
She started swimming in learn to swim classes when she was very young, and also participated in many other sports at a competitive level.

Hobbies & Interests:

Outside of swimming, she enjoys staying active through running, surfing, and skateboarding. When she is home in New Zealand, she enjoys hiking with friends, skiing, and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys playing the guitar and spending time with family and friends. In addition to swimming, she competes in cross-country running, freeride skiing, and triathlon.

Five-Year Vision:

She is not completely sure where she will be in five years and is keeping an open mind about her future career. What she does know is that she hopes to be completing her degree, continuing to compete in swimming at a high level, and making the most of opportunities to grow both academically and personally.

Lessons Learned from Swimming:

Swimming has taught her the importance of resilience and consistency. She has learned that progress does not happen overnight, and that staying committed through setbacks is what leads to improvement. She applies that mindset to her academics and other areas of life by working hard and staying patient when faced with challenges.

Legacy & Personal Mission:

She would like to be remembered as someone who worked hard, supported those around her, and always gave her best. She hopes to have made a positive impact on her teammates and inspired younger athletes to enjoy the sport and strive to reach their potential.

"If there was a younger athlete that has stuck with the sport because of me, I would count that as a win."
